Shan is a dedicated criminal lawyer, specialising in the most serious offences and with the ability to instill confidence in his clients.

Shan Yaqub completed his training at a well-regarded East London firm, McCormacks Solicitors where he gained early exposure to representing clients accused of serious criminal offences in particular fraud and terrorism offences.

Shortly after qualification as a solicitor Shan joined a large regional firm where he was able to quickly move up the ranks and make Partner.  In 2016 Shan and his fellow partner Jag Phull decided to leave behind the big firm culture to set up Langfield Law with a view to providing the highest quality of service to their clients.

Shan has a wealth of experience in all manner of cases and has acted in many high-profile cases where his clients have been accused of offences including complex fraud, business crime and murder.

Shan has an extensive client base and is referred most of his work by previous and current clients, who can attest to the tireless dedication and personal approach that he brings to each of his cases. Notable cases:

R v A Isleworth Crown Court

Instructed in a conspiracy to defraud the revenue by the alleged smuggling of class A and B drugs and also tobacco. The case concerned the smuggling of drugs and tobacco in loads of fresh fruit and vegetables imported via Heathrow and Gatwick airports as well as via various coastal ports. The allegations of class A were dismissed.

R v J -Old Bailey

Instructed to represent in proceedings involving an alleged conspiracy to rape. The case involved child sexual exploitation on a massive scale with J being one of 12 accused men said to have targetted and groomed two young girls.

R v HM-Old Bailey

Represented Defendant charged with murder following a drug feud with a rival gang member in Feltham.

R v BP-Luton Crown Court

Multi-handed conspiracy to murder and connected firearm offences involving a contract killing following a love feud.

R v SD-Old Bailey

12 handed violent disorder involving football fans following a QPR match in Central London.

R v NF-Isleworth Crown Court

Represented a defendant charged with Conspiracy to import Class A drugs. The defendant was acquitted following trial where he had been apprehended by UKBA with 40kg of drugs arriving from Eritrea. The defence successfully argued the defendant believed the drugs to be spices which were to be passed to a family member.

R v AA-Luton Crown Court

Large scale investigation involving 20 defendants charged with submitting fraudulent insurance claims following fictitious or set-up accidents.

R v RA

The Defendant was charged with various offences under the Terrorism act 2001 including that of being a member of a terrorist organisation namely Al-Qaeda.
